As well as celebrating some celebrity birthdays today’s show carried a warning about Jellyfish in Southend.
Beachgoers are reporting seeing hundreds of the jellyfish washed up on the beach, as well as floating in the water.
Open water swimmers and kite surfers have also been reporting being surrounded by jellyfish in the waters from Chalkwell through to Thorpe Bay.
Residents and visitors to Southend’s beaches should be cautious about the blue jellyfish lurking in the waves or even landing ashore. The species grows to approximately 10 to 20 cm and has many stinging tentacles.
