You may have heard us playing out Feelings by Rachel Wang on Phoenix FM recently – and we caught up with Rachel to find out a little bit more about herself and her music.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

Hello, my name is Rachel Wang. I’m currently 15 years old. I’ve been writing music for three years now. I’m a singer/songwriter. I used to bottle up my feelings inside but as I grew up I started to write my feelings out. Writing music helps me when I struggle with life. I want my music to help others to know they aren’t alone.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

I started to develop a passion for music when I was around 13. I noticed that music was an escape from reality.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

Growing up, I would listen to a lot of pop artists such as Tate McRae and Alec Benjamin.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

My music is mostly ranging from pop to some rock. I would say I’m alternative music.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

I have recorded and released 14 songs, including my current album SAVE US B4 IT’S TOO L8.

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

I love listening to Tate McRae, Billie Eilish, and also Alec Benjamin – and yes, they do influence my work.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

My dream collaboration would be with Tate McRae. I’ve been listening to her since I was really young. She’s honestly my biggest influence on music.

What are your plans for the future?

For my future I plan to work hard to get my music out there and try to help people struggling with life with my music. To know that they aren’t alone and that it’s okay to not be okay.

Where can we find out more about you?

You can find me on all streaming services including Spotify as well as Instagram and YouTube as well.
