We caught up with Boston pop recording artist Alex Costova, whose latest single Without You has been getting a lot of airplay on Phoenix FM lately.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

My name’s Alex Costova and I’m a recording pop artist from Boston, Massachusetts.

I started recording music in 2018 with Boston independent record label Loud House Audio.

I love creating music with my gift of playing piano and singing about concepts of Love, Hope and Dreams and the Stars.

I create atmospheric type sounds with rich layered synths and catchy melodies and beats.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

When I was 8 years old I first started playing piano. Growing up I taught myself how to play piano without any lessons to this day.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

I actually listened to a variety including my biggest influences Adam Young of Owl City and Tom Delonge of Angels and Airwaves and Blink 182. Metallica and Pink Floyd are some other influences.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

If you’re listening to my music for the first time, I would describe my music as being atmospheric and soothing with a catchy twist of synth and pop layers.

I’ve been mostly compared to as to sounding like Owl City.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

I started recording in 2018 with my first single release Without You which has racked up almost 100,000 streams on Spotify.

I released Dreamer shortly after in 2018.

My first 5 song EP See You In My Dreams was released in 2019, as was Don’t Let Me Go.

Stardust was released in 2020 and this year I have released Again and On My Way.

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

I love listening to Gryffin and Lost Kings – they are my vibe right now and they influence me to be a better artist and grow in ways of how I present music which acoustics and singing and electronic layers.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

My Dream collaboration would be with either Adam Young of Owl City or Tom Delonge from Angels and Airwaves.

What are your plans for the future?

Right now I’m releasing my newest single On My Way and then I’ll be releasing another single called Mine this year.

I’m going to be working with some big PR Companies this year to help take my music to the next level.

I look forward to doing my second music video for On My Way and also performing at my first live concert later in 2021.
