Artist Feature: Donmosjbat

Our latest feature is with up and coming Afrobeat indie artist Donmosjbat.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

I’m a songwriter, composer, singer and indie artist going big in the music movement. My genres are Afropop, reggae, dance, deephouse and Afromix.

I compose all of my own songs and edit most of my videos too.

I love composing – it gives me a sense of elevation and lifestyle good music and the beat master artwork and success to all my fans supporting me on this journey both far and wide.

I love songs that feel exciting, happy, dancing, loving, great for karaoke performing, simple to sing along and catch a great vibe with so much fun.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

I started developing passion from childhood but I had no direct mentor at the time. I wrote many songs at this time but I never understood the music life then so I had to face my schooling; I was serious with my school education.

I have no regrets – once you have a passion for something it will shine whenever you’re fully on it and understand the right ways and right people come into your movement.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

Lots – but a few like Wyclef Jean, Shakira, Diddy, Celine Dion, JayZ, Beyoncé, Rihanna, African Big artist like Tuface, BankyW, Wizkid, Timaya, Davido and many more.

I still listen to my generation’s artists now as long as the music is good but I make a unique composition in my style.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

It’s a mix of African Afro composed to dope Afro beat or in a foreign mix that matches perfectly in a creative way to feel good more again

What music have you recorded and released to date?

Music I have recorded and released under the name Donmosjbat include:

– Rock Ova ma body
– Chairman with D Money
– Follow Tikele Ti and dance Version as well
– Yogo Yogo Jogodo
– Girl Dem
– Wayama
– Wanna Rock n Roll
– Upcoming Track BADA
… and there’s more coming soon

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

Artists at the moment that influence my work include Teckno Alhaji, Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Timaya, Patoranky, Flavor, Foreign Art Buju, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Chris B, Drake and many more.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

I would collab with artists like Drake, Chris B, Shaggy, Davido, Wizkid, BurnaBoy, Timaya – any great artist since music is a journey of creative minds and a new good artist will be very welcome.

What are your plans for the future?

Future plans on music is to make a music empire for my style with my simple name Donmosjbat and heal the world as well.

Where can we find out more about you?

I’m on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Spotify.

My new release BADA is on the way – you can pre-save it here.
