How to use Instagram to improve your presence

Are you stuck in the old ways of marketing your brand, and paying an exorbitant amount just for your local area to see your advertisements? Have you ever thought about using social media, Instagram in particular, to improve you presence and reach a much larger audience?

In the past few years, brands both big and small, have started to realise just how beneficial social media platforms can be to them. Social media marketing offers brands and businesses so many benefits and advantages such as much cheaper marketing, a much larger reach to an audience of hundreds of millions of people, with many organic growth services such as Growthoid here, and even a place where you can meaningfully engage with potential customers and followers. Even though the primary intent for the individual user is to find a bit of entertainment, it definitely didn’t stop businesses from taking over the scene.

With the sheer amount of users on Instagram, it can be difficult to grow, and it is pointless to have an account if no one knows about it or notices it. If you have been having trouble improving your presence, here are a few simple ways to do so.

Great photos and colour

When it comes to Instagram, it is a very visually focused platform that’s identity is concentrated to an aesthetic look with high quality images and videos which only show off the very best parts of people lives. This means that when it comes to posting on Instagram as a business or brand, and you’re wanting to try and grow your presence, you need to keep this in mind, and take high quality, good looking photos and videos. A good photo will typically have an aesthetic colour palette, with a main subject in the frame, as well as some other smaller details props or scenery to add to the aesthetic and vibe.

Taking good photos doesn’t mean that you need a fancy camera, you can still use your phone, just ensure that you are making it look good and keeping the subject in frame. It is also important to keep consistency and the same style throughout your posting in order to maintain your aesthetic and have a good looking profile.

Consistency

If you are looking to improve your presence on Instagram, you can just be posting whenever you feel like it or whenever you have new content. Consistency is key to growth. This means that content needs to be posted daily on your feed and even more than that on the other features such as stories and reels.

Not only should you be posting every day but you should also have some form of posting schedule and post at these same times every day. This will allow you to post at times that reach the largest audience possible, and also allow people to know when you will be posting and becoming familiar with your posting times.

Don’t forget to use hashtags

Hashtags are one of the most underrated tools that Instagram has to offer and so many people aren’t taking advantage of it as much as they should be. By adding hashtags into your posts you allow for you content to be seen by so many more people who might not be following you. Not only this, but hashtags are specialised and directed towards a niche meaning that you will also be attracting your target audience by using hashtags relevant to your content and your brand.

Just ensure that when making use of popular hashtags, they are relevant to your brand to get more followers, because just spamming the most popular ones you can find won’t do you any good if you aren’t reaching your target audience.

Simple captions and CTA

When you post to you feed on Instagram, you have to option to include a caption, which you should always do. Typically simple and catchy captions seem to work best when it comes to improving your presence. Very few people will actually want to read a whole essay in the caption section of your content rendering these types of captions useless. In your caption you could simply just let the users know where the picture was taken, what was going on where it was taken, or even, if you are selling a product, tell people where they can find the link to you website.
