This Saturday’s football action saw Leyton Orient end a poor run of form in EFL League Two, Conor Wilkinson’s goal just after the hour mark giving them an excellent 1-0 win away to Newport County.

Former O’s defender Glen Wilkie once again watched the game for us and was on the line to give us his post-match thoughts.

But elsewhere in League Two, Southend United’s survival hopes now look extremely slim after they were denied victory late in their game at Scunthorpe United.

Ashley Nathaniel-George put Blues ahead from the penalty spot with 11 minutes of the match left.

But Alfie Beestin netted an injury-time equaliser for the hosts to make the final score 1-1, and leave Mark Molesley’s men still in the relegation zone and seven points adrift.

It was a happier day in the National League for Dagenham & Redbridge, who won 1-0 at Altrincham thanks to a superb second-half free-kick from Will Wright.

In Cricket, England’s T20 series in India ended in disappointment as they lost the decider to ensure the hosts won the series 3-2.

And in Rugby Union, England’s disastrous 2021 Six Nations campaign saw another defeat for Eddie Jones’ men, this time at the hands of Ireland who beat them 32-18.
