Today I was joined by local resident Margaret, and local student Benji, to discuss history as a hobby for New Talent Tuesday.
Having always had a passion for History, Margaret now teaches it to adults , as well as researching many local stories for her own personal interest. If you recognise the voice, Margaret also often appears on the Scott Ross show to share some of the finds, as well as reviewing books.
Benji is a local student who has also been discovering some interesting things about local history lately outside of the classroom. With 2 suffragette rallies taking place nearby, and an Upminster parish church in which William Derham discovered about the speed of light, Benji talks about how great local history can be in getting you away from your screen and discovering the world around you.
If you missed this week’s New Talent Tuesday, hear Benji and Margaret talk about why History is such a great hobby below!
If you’re interested in coming on New Talent Tuesday to discuss a hobby or talent, we’d love to hear from you! You can contact Phoenix FM here, or message Georgia on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter
