In football it was a very disappointing afternoon in League Two of the EFL for Leyton Orient, who – having parted company with head coach Ross Embleton the previous weekend following a poor run of results – crashed to a 4-0 defeat at Exeter City in interim manager Jobi McAnuff’s second game in charge.

I was however pleased that former O’s defender Glen Wilkie, who contributes regularly to our show The Orient Hour, joined me on the phone for the first time with his summary and thoughts on the game.

Our other local League Two side Southend United picked up a point in a goalless draw away to Oldham Athletic. But a win for fellow strugglers Barrow meant that the Shrimpers returned to the bottom two on goal difference, and Mark Molesley’s men still face a tough battle if they are to retain their Football League status.

In the National League, Dagenham & Redbridge staged a great comeback in their home match against Boreham Wood. With 17 minutes remaining the visitors were winning 2-0, but two late goals from Angelo Balanta secured a point for the Daggers and a final scoreline of 2-2.
