A good sport!

Do you love TV game shows?

Well today we heard about a contestant on an Icelandic game show who threw a total scene after an opponent beat him to winning a point, by hitting the buzzer a millisecond faster.

Firstly he slammed his hand down on the podium in front of him, before tipping it over and then grabbed a glass off another player’s podium, threw it on the floor and them stormed off the set, but it didn’t end there as the incensed player continued to boot off back stage with violent noises being heard in the studio.

Seemed like a good time to go to a commercial break!

Now although most game show contestants are good sports, taking defeat on the chin, this is not always the case as evidenced by a contestant on the UK Show “COME DINE WITH ME”.

It seems that this contestant, named Peter Marsh, who after basically supplying a pretty rubbish meal, coupled with less than glittering hosting, took a particular dislike to another contestant known as Jane and after she won, threw her out of his house saying, “Dear lord, what a sad little life, Jane. You ruined my night completely so you can have the money, but I hope now you spend it on getting some lessons in grace and decorum, cos you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.”

And when another shocked contestant intervened saying, “I don’t get it,” he retorted,”Well you wouldn’t… there’s nobody in there, love… So, Jane, take your money and get off my property.”

Seems like nice chap!

For her historical feature today, Margaret Mills took time out to look at the life of an Essex benefactor, Mary Bosanquet Fletcher.
