Another exciting Saturday afternoon of sport, and in football we saw Billericay Town – against all the odds – pick up a point against St Albans City in the National League South.

Ricay drew with a side who have only lost once in the NLS this season, despite fielding a team of youngsters and non-contract players due to their senior squad menbers having been furloughed. Leigh was on had to keep us updated with the action at New Lodge.

In the National League Dagenham & Redbridge staged a spirited comeback away to Wrexham, with a late Dean Rance equaliser giving the Daggers a point in a 2-2 draw at Wrexham.

But game of the day locally saw Hornchurch through to the last 8 in the FA Trophy, Liam Nash’s 95th minute winner securing the Urchins’ progress as they beat National League South side Maidstone United 5-4 in the 5th round tie at Bridge Avenue.

And on the opening weekend of Rugby Union’s Six Nations, we saw the beginning of England’s defeat at home to Scotland in the opening fixture of the tournament for both sides, the Scots taking the Calcutta Cup after their first win at Twickenham since 1983.
