Saturday saw West Ham United continue their fine form, as they progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Doncaster Rovers of EFL League One at the London Stadium.
I also followed the fortunes of Leyton Orient and Southend United in League Two, who both slipped to 1-0 home defeats against Forest Green Rovers and Mansfield Town respectively. Orient dropped out of the play-off spots as a result and Southend remained at the foot of the table.
But I also saw Dagenham & Redbridge make the comeback of the day in the National League. They were 2-0 down at home to King’s Lynn Town with less than 20 minutes left, but goals from Callum Reynolds, Andrew Eleftheriou and Mitch Brundle gave them a 3-2 victory which saw them rise to 16th place in the table.
This week musically, I paid homage to Scotland in respect of Burns Night with a selection of tracks by some of the best artists from that country, and on the ‘post-match warm down’ I played three songs featuring the production work of Phil Spector, who had passed away the previous weekend.
