Composing Christmas songs- Oliver Grimes on Drive

Today I was joined by 16 year old Oliver Grimes, student at St Martins school, to talk about the Christmas song he wrote for the school’s virtual Christmas concert. He told us all about the challenges of composing, how the song came about, and how he and other students in his year got together to record the song. Oliver was particularly grateful to work alongside so many other talented students, including Reuben Potter (Drums), Zoe Chatrath (Bass), Will Beech (Saxophone/Synth), Chris Willoughby (Percussion), Laura Simms (Vocals), Holly Graham (Videography).

Don’t forget to tune in to the St Martins’ Christmas concert on Wednesday 16th December at 6pm. You can find the details for it, as well as other local school concerts, here. You can also find more of Oliver’s music here.

If you missed Oliver on the show, catch up here!
