We’ve been playlisting One Last Time from N2Kaos, the latest track from the Oklahoma singer and performer otherwise known as Draven Frost. We caught up about his life and music:
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m Draven Frost. I’m a passionate musician who writes and records from the heart.
When did you first start to develop a passion for music?
I have always had a passion for music. I would have to say though that it was when I was in Junior High. I was invited to a birthday party at someone’s house, and a couple of the guys there were playing guitar. One of them was a guy by the name of Jeff Davis, who would later go on to play with the band Vince Vance and the Valiance. After that was when I decided I really want to learn to play guitar.
Which artists did you listen to while growing up?
As an adolescent I listened to Rod Stewart and Nick Gilder. Then as a teenager I listened to .38 Special, Brett Michaels, Janie Lane, and Tom Keiffer.
How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?
I enjoy all genres of music – but I guess you could say country/rock.
What music have you recorded and released to date?
I released my flagship title last year called Whisper Me Your Dreams – it has been very well received. It can be downloaded free at www.n2kaos.com.
We are releasing our second single One Last Time this month and our video Naughty Genie on January 26, 2021.
Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment, and do they influence your work?
Rob Thomas is who I have been listening to a lot lately. I love the song Even You Can’t Help Me Now, also I do a cover of his Cyndi Lauper cover Time After Time that’s always a crowd-pleaser. Sometimes I am influenced by what I listen to, but most of what influences me is just my life experiences.
I also have been listening to an independent group called Foxes and Fossils. They are an extremely talented, unsigned group. Tim Purcell, the founder, inspires me because he is still performing as an older man and that gives me hope for my own career.
Who would your dream collaboration be with?
There’s a kid named Brody Baker you can see at brodybakermusic.com. He is phenomenally talented and a rising star, I’d love to sit down with him, and Jeff Davis as aforementioned and see what the three of us could come up with together.
What are your plans for the future?
I would like to finish this album, finish the two or three videos we have been working on, and see how it goes from there.
