If the cap fits, wear it!

On today’s programme we heard about the girl who has been living a lie after telling her very controlling parents that she won a place at Oxford University.

Oh what a tangled web we weave when we set out to deceive!

It seems that after failing to secure a place at Oxford University she took the decision not to tell her very “pushy” parents and instead went to extreme lengths to maintain the deception even to the point of spending a fortune on textbooks, which had she’d been awarded a place, would have been freely available from the university library.

A year later and with costs rising out of control the girl replied to an advert offering an Oxford University hoodie that appeared on the platform, Depop, explaining her dilemma and pleading with the seller to let her have the item for free as it would add further credence to the deception.

She got a reply saying “I won’t send you the hoodie, but I will send you some soap so you can come clean!

Oh dear!

We also heard about the soon-to-be bride who having ordered her dream wedding dress from an on-line wedding shop, was distraught when the garment failed to live up to anywhere near her expectations.

She sent a blistering complaint to the company with pictures of how the dress appeared in the catalogue and how it appeared on her.

The fishtail design she’d picked was devoid of any of the frills or other obvious design features.

But the reply from the company more than took the wind out of her sails when the company pointed out that she had put it on inside out!

Oops!

See you again tomorrow,
