5k run and walk for Action For Family Carers

Can you help Action For Family Carers support unpaid family carers by taking part in their 5k for 5 days Challenge?

AFFC would like this to be accessible to as many people as possible so if 5k in 5 days is too much you can spread it out over the whole month.

If 5k for 5 days is too easy then why not set your own challenge?

An unpaid carer is someone who carers for a family member who has a long term illness or disability. AFFC support both Young Carers as well as Adult Carers.

Lockdown has been tough on everybody but imagine how much harder life would be if you were at home caring for a relative with a long term illness with no help from relatives or Day Care Services? Many people are doing this while juggling their caring role with work or school.

Many Carers have reported that they have felt lonely and isolated since the first lockdown in March; some have said that their own mental health has suffered due to the restrictions. Lockdown has meant that many face to face and practical support services have had to change or be cancelled.

AFFC have made changes to our services in order to continue to support Carers via zoom meetings, online courses, telephone support and befriending.

If you are a Carer or know a Carer you can get more information about their service from www.affc.org.uk

Donations to Action for Family Carers can be made via www.affc.org.uk/support-us
