We’ve been giving lots of airplay to Brittany Nicole’s current track “We Fo’ Life”, written and produced by Carlos Guillen. We caught up with Brittany to talk about her life and music.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

I grew up Tulare, California and began singing at an early age, as my mother was a local established singer.

In my early 20s, I joined a few bands as lead singer. This allowed me to hone my stage skills and presence as a singer and performer.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

I started singing anywhere I could – from church to car shows to even neighbourhood events. All the while I learned how to command attention with not only my voice but my stage presence too. This led to me performing around California. I’m looking forward to getting back on stage as soon as live music can continue in 2020.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

I grew up admiring the late, great Tejano singer Selena. She is an inspiration to me, as are Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

“Breakthrough” is an excellent all original (13) track album that speaks from my heart. It’s a Pop-Soul album filled with infectious yet heart-warming songs that deal with love.

The first track, “Girls Night Out” is a raw throwback to an era of the early 80’s sound that defined the “Old school” era and has influenced generations of music lovers.

Breakthrough’s biggest moment of bliss is the fabulously Pop/R&B track “We Fo’ Life” that talks about positive love. There’s no question this album sounds like a new flame that surrenders to the vertigo of love. It’s a rare glimmer of optimism on an album full of heartache and pain.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

3 singles – Play the fool for love, Never Satisfied and “We fo’ life”

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

I listen to many different singers but lately I been listening to all the new ladies of the Pop/R&B genre.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

The Weeknd, Jennifer Lopez or Mariah Carey.

What are your plans for the future?

To continue to make more music that speaks from the heart.
