Live from the newly refurbished Studio One at Phoenix FM towers, this week we round up all the results from the SNEL, as the club season nears its climax and highlight notable performances from around the local clubs. We also take a look at England’s performance as the Pakistan tour comes to an end and look forward to the arrival of Australia. The T20 Blast has had a busy week and we highlight the performances of the current cup holders Essex; Brett grabs a word with Aaron Nijjar.
Our guests this week are the Sky News Business Editor Ian King, who tells us about the relationship between cricket and big business in The city and speculates on how that might look in a post-Covid world. We also managed to grab a few words from former England hero Jonathan Trott, who most recently is a batting scout for the ECB. He tells us about his England career, including the wonderful Ashes winning performance Down Under in 2010-11, the best places he’s played and he also talks playing with Kevin Pietersen and against Dale Steyn. Also why jumping in a swimming pool in full cricket kit is not as easy as you might think!
There’s also the usual news round up and of course “Cricket Birthdays of the Week”.
