On today’s #One2ThreeShow we’ve doubled up on the guest front – Stewart Pink is joined by writer, musician and director Chris Wade PLUS actor, comedian, playwright and all-round national treasure Nigel Planer.
Nigel, of course, is most famous for his role as everybody’s favourite long-haired hippy, Neil, from The Young Ones, has been in countless TV and West End stage productions and narrated several audiobooks. We talk about some of his favourite West End roles, what it was like taking comedy to a new level in the 80s, his latest project “Raymond’s Room”, theatre in the time of Covid19, his upcoming album “five songs left” and his new play “All Above Board”. Plus was Rik Mayall really a bastard?

As a musician, Chris Wade’s band Dodson and Fogg has an impressive back catalogue and has featured the likes of Nigel Planer and Toya Wilcox, he’s written and directed documentaries and films and has written several audiobooks with Wisdom Twins Books. His previous release “Cutey and the Sofaguard” narrated by Rik Mayall, gained a large cult following and his latest release “Raymonds Room” narrated by Nigel Planer is written in similar vein; funny, energetic, relatable yet imaginative and is guaranteed to connect with and cheer up your inner loser! We talk about Chris’ music, his audiobooks, some invaluable tips for creators and his surreal experiences working with comedy heroes Nigel and Rik. Plus how does Mark Searby measure on the Bastard scale?
