Shantonio is an emerging artist from Darien, Georgia in the USA – you may have heard his new track Summer Baby on our recent Rising Stars show. We caught up with Shantonio to find out more about the man and his music.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Shantonio (aka Indigo) male ICON is an artist bringing a new wave of music. His music represents having fun, being yourself, taking risks, manifesting your life, etc… But most importantly… Having fun while living life.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

Early in my middle school days is when I found my love for music. My older brother is the reason why I wanted to pursue music. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have ever taken the risk. He truly motivated me… My older brother pushed me so well that he doesn’t know he was pushing me.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dog, etc.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

I make mood music. Lyrics are not so much of a focus for me unless I really want to send a message. My goal is to control your mood with my music. Can I uplift your spirit when you turn my music on? Rather it makes you ready to have sex, sad, mad, happy, etc. I want to change your mood for the good.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

I took a 5-year break from music and pulled down my old music. That being said, “Summer Baby” is out now, released on March 30th, 2020.

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

I listen to Rihanna, and she influences my art in someways.

Whom would your dream collaboration be with?

I will collaborate with Rihanna.

What are your plans for the future?

I will become the biggest music Mogul/Icon/Legend of my era.
