Both sides of debate over future of playing fields have their say

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

Everyone’s finally back to work after the New Year break and we’ve already featured lots of on air interviews with local groups and organisations.

The leader of Brentwood Borough Council, Chris Hossack, visited Michelle Ward’s show to talk about the latest local developments including plans for redevelopment at King George’s Playing Fields.

The plans haven’t delighted all of our listeners, however – we also spoke to Jim Lynch from the Friends of King George’s Park who came in to talk about why the council’s proposals are not welcomed by everyone.

Both of the interviews can be heard again on our website at www.phoenixfm.com.

The station always has an open invitation for anyone who has a message they’d like to get out on air! If you’d like to come in and publicise your group or organisation on air please get in touch with me at paul@phoenixfm.com.

Over the next week or so we’ll also be talking on air to Louise McConnell from Kids Inspire, author Peter Jones, gallery owner John Brandler and Brian Hughes from Shenfield solicitors Rainer Hughes.

There will also be live music in the studio from Spitter, Edd Coates and we’ll be chatting to Brentwood band Offshore too.
