We’ve been playing Chapi on our Rising Stars show recently and we caught up with him to talk about his career and music.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

I was born 1997 in Sweden. I work for Volvo, where we make truck engines.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

In my spare time I produce all sort of music. Music has always been a passion for me but it was not until 2015 when I actually started making my own music in fruity loops.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

House and electronic msusic overall have been strong genres with me over the years. I grew up in the early 2000s where house music was not really a thing and I would spend more time listening to rock and rap – my favourite artists were Linkin Park and Jay-Z.

In around 2011-2012 local artists such as Avicii and Swedish House Mafia began to emerge and this introduced me to house and rave music.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

I would say my music is pretty mainstream – euphoric, uplifting and “partyish”!

What music have you recorded and released to date?

I have a few tracks on streaming services such as Spotify – Groza and Emerald Pool, which were both released in 2018, and my current track Speed Of Sound which features Swedish singer Elin Andersson.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

This would have to be with either Post Malone or Britney Spears.

What are your plans for the future?

My future is pretty blurry as always – I can’t see the future and I take nothing for granted. I will simply just continue doing what I love.
