NEWS THIS WEEK
1985 ITV aired the US intergalactic whodunit Murder in Space. The film was shown without the ending, and a competition was then held for viewers to identify the murderer(s). The film’s concluding 30 minutes were shown a few weeks later, with a studio of contestants eliminated one by one until the winner correctly solves the mystery. Hosted by Anneka Rice, the prize was £10,000.
