Sports Round Up – 6 July 2019

So its been a little while sine the last Sports Show Update…sorry.

Regular listeners will know a recent charity event the wife and I undertook has kept me busy. We undertook a double marathon event across the South Downs the other weekend. The pain of the event is now a distant memory but the experience is still a very vivid memory. So much so that we are thinking of taking part in another next year.

The shows since have seen a diverse bunch of sporting topics covered – something i am keen to carry on with. The regular updates on football in the local area will start to feature soon as the football season fast approaches. But until then there is still opportunity to give a platform to the other sports that don’t feature much on the radar.

One such topic made an appearance on Saturday and we had a couple of guys in from the Essex Redbacks Baseball Team. We spoke about their journeys in baseball, the local routes into the sport and of course featured their experience of the recent MLB London Series baseball matches between the Yankees and Red Sox’s. A great chat from a couple of very passionate fans and players of the sport.

It has definitely got me thinking if i can squeeze a visit to a training session to have a go.

You can check out the interview from the link below.

And that is something i am trying to spread via the show…just give something a go. The guys talked about the various level of skills that make up a great team. And you never know – you might be quite good at whatever you give a go.

So if there is something you are wanting to try or looking for something for any young people you look after to try…have a look around as there is plenty of local sport to try. If it is something you are apart of and want to spread the word to a wider audience then drop me an email and will see if we can get you on the show.

Thanks for listening.
