On today’s show I was joined by two members of a new band called AFFIRMATION – GILL OLIVER and JO KERR. Sadly the third original member of the band, ANDY BELL couldn’t make it today but hopefully we’ll get all of them in together at some time in the future.

Now JO KERR is an old friend as she has visited us many times as part of the ukulele band, D’UKES.

AFFIRMATION have just produced their first single – OUR LOVE – which, of course, we played today.

The song was co-written by GILL OLIVER and ANDY BELL and basically seeks to question why the church and other institutions oppose marriages between gay people.

In the second hour of today’s show, we dipped into an experience, which for the lady involved must have seemed like a trip into THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

Yes just imagine how poor TIFFANI ADAMS must have felt when after taking a nap on a flight to TORONTO, she awoke to find that all the other passengers, along with the crew, had disembarked.

Unable to use her mobile phone as the battery had died, she made it to the cockpit only to find that the radio communication equipment was not working as the plane was without power.

She unsuccessfully attempted to attract anyone’s attention by using a torch and then opened the plane’s door but realised that the drop was too great for her to attempt to jump down.

Fortunately she was eventually spotted by some ground crew and taken to safety.

I have to say it doesn’t say much for aircraft security.

Did they check that the overhead lockers had been emptied? Seems unlikely if they didn’t even notice that someone was still strapped in their seat.

The Airline has since expressed their surprise and concern and said they would look into the issue!
