Artist Feature: Urban Fu$e

We recently caught up with Urban Fu$e to find out all about them and their music.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

We believe in challenging the status quo, going beyond what’s been accepted as norms. By the way, we also happen to be professionals who enjoy creating music together. That’s how we came together and created Urban Fu$e. We chose the name because of the multicultural fusion of our music but we also consider ourselves to be fuses that will spark the musical revolution that is to come.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

For many of us, when we were very young about 5-6 years old. But due to poor perception about the music industry many of us didn’t have a chance to pursue it until later in our lives.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

We listen to Michael Jackson, Madonna, Masta Ace, Logic, Abba, Boney M,NF, Lil Zay Osama, Eminem, Joyner Lucas, Tory Lanez, Kid Milli, Dok2, Jin, Derek Minor and Dumfoundead.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

Our musical style is more gravitated toward a mixture of K-pop/hiphop/rap/ electro-pop, with a bit of Afro beats and EDM in it. Lyricswise, we tend to focus on the overall message with a strong emphasis on sharing tips surrounding our SPEMF theme (healths relating to spirit, physical, emotional, mental and financial).

What music have you recorded and released to date?

So far we’ve released 9 tracks including a Christmas track. There are 17 more in various stages of production to be released as a single or as part of an EP.

The 9 released tracks are in this order:

1. Can’t Steal My Deal
2. $plurge
3. Urban Spice
4. You Light Me Up (Like that Christmas Tree)
5. Till The End
6. Runaway
7. Freedom
8. Big
9. Retire In Peace

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

Masta Ace, yes, love his writing and stories.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

Anybody on the list I mentioned above would be amazing.

What are your plans for the future?

We recently got a sync deal with a small bank here in the US that wants some sound bites from our latest track Big for their social media usage. They like us so much that they want to use some sound bites from Splurge and Retire in Peace (RIP) as well so that got us thinking that financial hiphop/rap songs could be something we should focus on and have a separate catalog of just financial songs.

We also continue to write more songs in the areas of SPEMF, are being creative in many ways to get more inspiring messages out to the world to help our fans relax after a long day of work but also learn something of good value from the time they spend with us 3 minutes at a time.
