Artist Feature: Projekt Horizon

We’re currently featuring Projekt Horizon’s new single “Rockstar” on heavy rotation here on Phoenix FM … and we caught up with Andri from the band to find out all about them and their music.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

We are two guys from Switzerland and we’ve been making music for around 11 years now. I started as a solo guitarist and made music in collaboration with rappers – think Linkin Park.

Then I met a music producer, Lou – we made one album together and then we’ve stuck together as Project Horizon. You can see some of our videos on our website here.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

Way back in 1995 when I was a kid – I was just 10 then. I learned piano first and I’ve also been playing the guitar for 19 years.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

I listened to a lot of Limp Bizkit, 2Pac, Eminem, Linkin Park, Bullet For My Valentine, Iron Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC and NWA, among others. Lots of 1990s and 2000s rock and hip hop.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

Our Music is a mix of good old-fashioned rap and rock/metal. You could call it rapmetal or something!

What music have you recorded and released to date?

We’ve recorded two albums – Projekt Horizon and What We Got – which you can hear on Spotify, Amazon or iTunes.

We’ve also made some videos, such as Fight This Fight and Get Higher, which was an amazing experience for us – we made this with the Patroullie Suisse Pilots.

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

My favourites are still within metal and hip hop – Bullet For My Valentine, who influence me a lot; Limp Bizkit, Hollywood Undead, Five Finger Death Punch and a lot more.

Lou prefers to listen to more soul and hip hop.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

I think it would be great to collaborate with Michael Paget from Bullet For My Valentine – and I wish 2Pac was still alive as it would be great to work with him too.

What are your plans for the future?

We’re currently planning the release of Rockstar. In two months time we will release a second single and we plan to release ten more songs every two months. After that we will see how it goes.

It would be amazing for Projekt Horizon to undertake some live shows too but there’s only two of us at the moment and we’d need more band members to play live, so we need to find a lot of loot first!
