Friday Night Extra 17.5.19 Hearts and bones

Feature album tonight was Paul Simon’s 1983 album Hearts & Bones. Not one of his best known albums, but now widely acclaimed. We celebrated Enya’s birthday. Despite having never taken a concert tour, she has sold 26.5 million albums in the USA and an estimated 75 million albums world wide. This makes her one of the best selling artists of all time. We also remembered with affection the film and music career of legend Doris Day.

Tonight’s playlist
La La Land Soundtrack – Another day of sun – this is what we need with abseiling down the church tower happening tomorrow at Ingatestone Parish church.
Greatest Showman soundtrack – This is me
Roger Miller – King of the road – requested by Phyl and no 1 in 1965 this week.
Mike Oldfield – Moonlight shadow – requested by Patrick as it was Mike’s 66th birthday this week. Who new that this track was No 1 in eight countries? A UK no 4 in 1980.

Enya – Orinoco Flow
Enya – I can’t stop singing

Doris Day
Secret love
Disney girls – from her 2011 album My heart.
Van Halen – Jump – requested by Rene for those taking part in the abseil tomorrow.
Matt Munroe – From Russia with love – a classic James Bond theme tune.

Lauren Daigle – look up child
Paul Bell – Even when you’re gone

Paul Simon When numbers count too much, Late Johny Ace, Think too much
Dusty Springfield – Just one smile
Peter Hallet – Peace
Joni Mitchel – Free man in Paris
Jack Savoretti – Soldiers eyes
Extreme – More than words – loved by Claire as she was painting.
Gary Jules – Mad world. Chris could not believe it came from 2001.
Sophie Griffiths – Numb – Ingatestone’s very own Sophie’s new release.
Michelle Ward – Wonderful world – Phoenix FM weekday Brunch presenter
Join me next week when my studio guest is Lisa Whymark from St. Peter’s church in Hutton.
