We’re always looking for talented musicians that don’t get airtime on other radio stations and we really enjoyed a visit from Oliver New last week.
Oliver is a local singer/songwriter who has been playing guitar for 15 years, and writing his own songs for 6 years.
He has a very eclectic set which includes acoustic, jazz, electronica, psychedelic rock and funk so there’s definitely something for everyone!
Oliver recently completed a 31-day 31-show open mic tour around London to raise much-needed funds for the charity Beam, which aims to help homeless people get back into long-term employment.
He’s also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe twice and a number of venues around London.
Oliver came in to talk to daytime host Michelle Ward about his new single This Is Us and to play it live in the studio for our listeners, along with his recent single Play It Safe.
The session and interview can be heard again on phoenixfm.com.
