There are many things you can do to improve the health of your mouth and teeth. For thousands of years nobody had to bother too much with the health of their teeth as we weren’t consuming large amounts of sugar and alcohol and other items that will inevitably lead to tooth decay and gum problems. Obviously our ancestors weren’t without teeth problems but they also didn’t have access to dentists either which meant a life without teeth made it very difficult for the carnivores to survive.
What’s good for dental health is also good for overall health. We need to identify good and bad food groups, and remove harmful foods and drinks. All packaged and refined foods are suspects. Anything that contains white flour, white sugar or refined vegetable oils should be removed.Difficult to remove the refined vegetable oils as nearly all packaged foods contain them and many restaurant foods too, but awareness is the first step on the road to change. Maybe cutting down is a better option.
You can replace them with coconut oil, olive oil or lard if you are a meat eater.
Try to cut down on grains too, and eat them perhaps two to three times per week.
You may be thinking at this stage there is nothing left to eat but there is a vast array of fruits and vegetables, pulses and beans which will improve your health. Try making some small changes and you might find some big health benefits. The period of readjustment is always challenging but when you’ve achieved it you will be feeling great and natural your smile will be amazing!
