A holiday of a lifetime?

I was joined today by TONY FOSGATE who in spite of describing himself as “a nervous man” has taken a number of truly bizarre holidays.

In fact I’m not quite sure if the word “holiday” is really appropriate as he’s been Whitewater Rafting in Colorado, taken himself to the North Pole and even tried his hand at the Cresta Run in St Moritz.

Not only that but he’s even put pen to paper and written about his experiences.

His book “SATAN’S GUT, SAUSAGE BOATS and ICE KISSES” is a most entertaining and amusing read, and the hardback edition is available from Amazon and all good booksellers priced at £8:99 with the Kindle edition priced at £2:99.

So varied have been his adventures that we are getting Tony to come back and tell us about his experiences on three separate occasions, but to learn about some of what he encountered white water rafting down the Colorado, listen here to what Tony had to tell me today: –

In the second hour of the show we looked back at Mothering Sunday and one of the more unusual offerings provided by the discount store THE WORKS.

Advertised as one of the perfect presents for mums was the book “LOVE AS ALWAYS, MUM XXX” by Mae West and dedicated to the memory of her mother, Rose who along with her husband, Fred was convicted with the murders of 10 people including that of her 16 year old daughter Heather and eight year old step-daughter Charmaine.

Rose West was jailed for life in 1995 for the shocking crimes but recently won a prison bake-off competition.

Incredibly in her book, Mae West actually catalogues the childhood abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother.

A spokesman for The Works said: “We apologise if the placing of this item caused any offence. It has now been removed from the display across all stores.”

It is not known how many copies were sold.

I’ll see you again tomorrow,
Scott
