Weald Park Race for Life is charity run for everyone to be part of

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

We were joined by Megan Bailey in the studio last week to talk about the Race For Life taking place in Brentwood on May 25.

Megan is the events manager for Cancer Research UK and comes in regularly to update listeners on events that are run in aid of the charity.

The Race For Life takes place in Weald Country Park and, rather than being a traditional race with people winning, is a fundraising event for people of all ages.

Megan talked to MIchelle Ward in detail about the history of the event and what Cancer Research does with the money it raises. You can hear her interview again on phoenixfm.com.

* Lots more guests coming up on air over the next seven days to talk about the good work they do in the community. Anita McCarthy from Saint Francis Hospice will be talking to Ian Leigh about the Hospice’s latest fundraising and events on Drive

* And Rob Saggs from Essex homeless charity CHESS will be talking about the group’s current work with Patrick Sherring on Friday Night Extra.

* Michelle Ward’s Eat My Brunch show and Jordan Gray’s show The Extrajordanary Show have both been nominated for Best Radio Show in the Panic Awards, Essex’s premier live entertainment awards show. Jordan has also been nominated for Comedian Of The Year. The winners will be announced on April 18 at the Civic Theatre in Chelmsford.
