Bowers & Pitsea 6 Brentwood Town 0
Bostik North
Saturday 9th March
Report by Ken Hobbs
Brentwood suffered their heaviest defeat of the season as Bowers showed why they are nine points clear at the top of the league.
Jamie Dicks put the home side ahead on ten minutes and David Knight made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the eighteenth minute after Mitchel Hunter had fouled Lewis Manor at the far post.
Rob Budd made excellent saves from Knight and Manor before Knight scored his second in the 35th minute and Dicks scored again four minutes before half time.
Any hopes of a second half revival were dashed seven minutes after the restart when Manor scored Bowers fifth goal. The woodwork twice stopped further goals for the home side before substitute Fahad Nyanja netted the sixth goal in the 86th minute.
Brentwood Town: Budd, Fox, Martin, Carter, Gordon, Mallett (Okoh 65), Hunter, Levett, Hughes (Hurford 65), Hilton, Stokes.
