The opinion is changing on crash diets. It has long been considered by experts that crash diets are not good for you, with many piling the pounds back on as quickly as they came off. Some research has been done into diet and obesity and negative myths about meal replacement diets.
One of the objections is they’re too complicated, but hardly more so than counting calories. It is argued that you aren’t eating proper food, but nevertheless weight is lost. It’s education into better dietary habits that’s needed afterwards.
Each of the meal replacements have 200 calories and can be a lot easier to follow this kind of diet. These days there are a lot more things to choose from than just the traditional shakes, there are healthy bars, soups and proper meals too, which makes them a lot more palatable.
It has been found that people following meal replacement diets do, on average, lose more weight than those following other diets. Following up on this same people four years later also revealed that most had managed to sustain their weight loss.
There are a lot of positive reports about crash diets now, and apparently the latest craze of going vegan could also help. Researchers also looked at people who had converted to veganism and there was a lot of evidence that this diet not only helps to control weight issues bit also improves overall health.
