This weeks number 1 was Connor & Jess with a track they sang at The Phoenix FM Open Mic Night last week. They had one practice at it and it just sounded like it would work well with their voices. We recorded it there and then and it was added to the chart show the very next day. It was over 200 votes in front of Sorelle who was this weeks no’2
Today’s Guest Is: Katie Blackwell
Katie B will be joining me this Sunday to help me with the local chart show for local artists, and she will also be singing live.
Katie is just 15 years old and currently attends Italia Conti in Barbican and BCA in Rayleigh, she also has LCM in music theatre grade 6 (distinction)
She has also recorded 2 mini albums in 2017 and 2018 as well as various singles since she was 10.
In 2015 she appeared at the Peacock Theatre in London in a production of The Cunning Little Vixen with the British Youth Opera
In 2016 Appeared at the Actors Church in Covent Garden in a celebrity production of Godspell with Kerry Ellis and Ramin Karamaloo
She also joined me as part of the Havering entry for the Mayor of Londons New Years Day Parade. Havering took 2nd place in the London Councils float competition.
She is also due to start filming for a charity film next month called Survivor produced by Jamie Long which highlights the effects of mental health and bullying and also tackles issues homelessness, and alcoholism
Katie plays the part of Wendy the girlfriend of the main character.
she will also be in the Studio next month to record an original song written for her as well as 2 other numbers, and in May she is nominated for 3 awards at the SEEA Awards. Best Vocalist 14-17, Best Live Performance and Best Young Breakthrough Artist
