Sunday Breakfast Show: 2 To Soothe – December 2018

Happy New Year to all our listeners, I hope your 2019 has started well.

Looking back at the 2 To Soothe I played on Sunday Breakfast in December, it looked a bit like this –

Mazzy Star – Fade Into You

Nat King Cole – When I Fall In Love

Labi Siffre – Something Inside So Strong

George Michael – One More Try

Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová – Falling Slowly

Deacon Blue – When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring)

Tarja Turunen – O Come, O Come, Emmanuel

Johnny Mathis – When A Child Is Born

Otis Redding – My Lover’s Prayer

Norah Jones – Don’t Know Why

From a couple of those, you would almost thing there was a Christmas theme to one of the shows!

This month’s video comes from Mazzy Star, with their gorgeous Fade Into You, released in 1994, it just missed out on a top 40 chart position here in the UK, stalling at 48, but has since gone on to be used in countless films and television programmes, been placed at number 19 in Pitchfork’s Top 200 Tracks of the 90s, and the two official videos have racked up over 10 million views on YouTube
