There are a number of local organisations who are doing great things for the community at Christmas, and it’s always great to welcome them into the station so they can spread the word to our listeners.
Emmanuel Church in Laindon Road, Billericay is organising a Christmas Day lunch for anyone who would like to come along – couples, people on their own or families. They are doing this without charge and can also arrange transport.
Emmanuel’s Team Rector, Rev. Paul A. Carr, came in to the studio to talk to Michelle Ward about why it’s so important to let people know that they do not need to be alone at Christmas and that there can always be someone there for them.
Paul’s interview can be heard again on our website at phoenixfm.com. The lunch itself is on Christmas Day from 1pm. If any readers are interested in going, they should call 01277 625015 to confirm a place.
* We’ll be broadcasting a number of programmes live throughout the Christmas period. Bob Simpson, Nick Field and Ben Simmons will all be presenting Christmas Day specials and Rev Patrick Sherring will be live on Boxing Day at 10am with his regular festrive show, What Christmas Means To Me.
* Even Steve Davis will be getting in on the act – he’ll be presenting new editions of his Interesting Alternative Show on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
