Prokit UK Essex Olympian League – Saturday 24th November Round-Up

Essex Premier Cup

Chingford Athletic were reinstated back into the Essex Premier Cup after Hullbridge Sports Res. who beat them in the last round were kicked out the competition for a player illegality. The reprieve saw them into the 3rd Round but their campaign ended as Kelvedon Hatch knocked them out with a 2-1 success. Danny Gillard scored both the Kelvedon goals that cancelled out Tayo Olansayo’s one for Chingford. Three other Olympian teams came through their all-Olympian ties starting off with Buckhurst Hill who brushed Sungate aside with a 5-0 win. Steve Townsend’s hat-trick was added to by goals from Frank Glock and Sam Sollosi. George Nash, Lewis Scott and Brad Freeman were the Hutton marksmen in a 3-0 away win at Beacon Hill Rovers; while Thomas Watling and Tyler Tredget scored the Galleywood goals in a 2-0 win over Old Chelmsfordians. Shoebury Town were eliminated after Tiptree Heath fired five past them. Scott Clark did at least grab a consolation on route to his side crashing out after a 5-1 reverse.

Premier Division

Harold Wood Athletic are up to second after a 3-2 away win at Great Baddow. The game was goalless at the break but second half goals from John Bradley, Brad Foley and Robert Whitnell secured the points for the visitors. Bishop’s Stortford Swifts are up to third after Charlie Brown and Danny Morgan notch in their 2-0 away win at Leigh Ramblers. Paul Morris and Damien Siemienczuk handed Rayleigh Town a 2-0 lead over Canning Town and looked like they were coasting to victory. But the visitors were able to get back on level terms thanks to goals from Joe Hall and Kevin Songolo. However the pendulum then swung back in Rayleigh’s favour as Paul Morris bagged the winning goal to see his side record a 3-2 win. Catholic United remain in the drop zone, but despite needing points to get out of it were generous enough to supply Old Southendian with two own goals. Jon Staines and Ryan Stillwell also got on the score sheet in Old Southendian’s 4-0 win over the defending Premier Division Champions.

Division One

Frenford Res. travelled to Nutter Lane on Saturday and went on to beat Snaresbrook on their own patch; the 2-0 defeat sees Snaresbrook remain at the summit, but their lead has been cut to three points after Ramsden Scotia picked up maximum points from their encounter with Basildon Town. Max Corrigan scored twice in the 5-2 win, with Sam Wren, Ryan Leddra and Antony Driscoll also notching. Basildon’s replies came from one source: Sener Suavi. Shenfield AFC also picked up a win as they too close the gap on the leadership. Their 3-0 win over Herongate Athletic was aided in large part by Ronnie Hobbrough’s hat-trick. James Nottage and Billy Field both grabbed braces for Rayleigh Town Res. with Charlie Sullivan and Taylor Armstrong also scoring in their 6-1 win over bottom-placed May & Baker E.C. Res. FC Hamlets registered a 3-2 away win at Ongar Town courtesy of Tyler Sanago-Ishmael, Charlie Heatly and Farren Smith. The hosts scored through James Stevens and Ross Carpenter.

Division Two

Runwell Sports go top after they are awarded the points after their opponents Upminster couldn’t fulfil the fixture. Toby, who started the day as Division Two leaders, ended it down in third after a 5-3 defeat at Lakeside. The hosts had the evergreen Drew Klessa-Smith chalk one of their goals; but Connor White, Matthew Vambe, Ollie Pettit and Ryan Budd also hit the target. Toby’s replies were bagged by Ben Turner, David Major and Junior Bammeke. Harold Wood Athletic Res. are up to second after a 2-1 win over Rochford Town. Joe Pyne scored both the Harold Wood goals, with Jason Patmore supplying the Rochford one. Newham United meanwhile move up to ninth after a 5-2 home win over May & Baker E.C. ‘A’, who remain bottom after this result.

Division Three

With Westhamians not having a game it allowed Laindon Orient to close the gap on their lead; they duly did this with a 2-1 away win over Hutton Res. with Jasper Read and a James Shadwell penalty securing the victory. Tom Biddiss scored the Hutton goal. And down at the foot of the table the bottom two both lost. Bottom-paced Basildon Town Res. were handed a 5-3 defeat by Wakering Sports, with Mike Curtis (3) and Nick Bettis (2) providing the Wakering goals, while Tommy Green scored a brace for Basildon with Jake Bridgeman the other scorer. Zac Mashford was the Leigh Town scorer in a 1-1 draw with Roydon, who scored their goal via Charlie Rider. White Ensign Res. beat Old Chelmsfordians Res. 3-1 with Lubona Wyatt, Chadrack-Kisoka Domingo and Zach Somerset-Butlet notching the goals. The hosts replied via Cosmin Rotau. Academy Soccer and Old Southendian Res. shared the spoils after a 3-3 draw.
