Advice, recipes and ideas – tune in this week if you are vegan-curious

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

November is World Vegan Month and we’ve got it covered on Phoenix FM with lots of news, stories and interviews on Karin Ridgers’ regular Friday evening show House Of Fun.

Karin’s show regularly features vegan issues, a subject which rarely gets covered in depth on other radio stations despite its growing popularity – nearly two million people in the UK now identify as vegan or vegetarian.

Last week’s show featured star vegan chefs Brett Cobley and Danielle Maupertuis talking about recipes in the studio.

Karin also chatted to Dr Samantha Calvert, Head of Communications at the Vegan Society about the history of veganism, and Tim Barford, founder of Vegfest UK.

World Vegan Month is celebrated around the world as a time to recognise how far the vegan movement has come, to highlight how accessible and beneficial a vegan lifestyle can be and to encourage the vegan-curious to adopt veganism by sharing advice, recipes and ideas.

You can hear all of Karin’s shows again on our website at phoenixfm.com or catch her live every Friday at 6pm.

** Lots more guests coming up in the next week on air. Josh Abbott from Peace Productions will be talking about a series of Essex gigs he is staging in aid of Mind on tonight’s Curveballs, and Patrick Sherring will be chatting to the Bishop of Bradwell, The Right Reverend Dr John Perumbalath, on Friday Night Extra.

** There will also be live music in the studio from Bridge The Dark, Easy Single and Picking The Spot.
