New music today from several bands including indie supergroup Piroshka, fronted by former Lush lead singer Miki Berenyi.

Miki went on Twitter in September to say …

Ok, so if you hadn’t pieced it together – mystery over. The new band is me, Moose, Justin Welch and (drum roll…) Michael Conroy (Modern English). He was such an amazing star stepping in at the last ever Lush show that I’ve not since let him out of my sight.

Moose is KJ McKillop from the early 90s indie band of the same name, Justin played in Elastica and more recently the Lush reunion gigs and Michael Conroy stepped in for Phil King at Lush’s final gig in Manchester in 2016 – so Piroshka includes three of the four people who were on stage as Lush that night.

The band’s debut album, Brickbat, is out in February.
