In the second hour of today’s show we heard about the unusual tactics employed by a Chinese company when staff have failed to reach their sales targets.

Seemingly, under performing employees, deemed to be letting the team down, have been forced amongst other things, to drink urine and eat cockroaches.

Some other staff were reportedly made to have their heads shaved as punishment or endure a thrashing!

An internal e-mail read, “If the sales goal has not been met by the end of this month, the team leader will have to eat three cockroaches for each failed sale.”

When asked why employees stayed with the company, one staff member said they were owed 2 months back pay and the company had threatened to reduce severance pay of anyone who quit!

Local police have confirmed that two of the company managers have been jailed for 10 days, while a third manager will spend five days in jail.

Seems a pretty light sentence to me!
