Anagram Records Trophy

Catholic United breezed into the 3rd Round of the Anagram Records Trophy after Sandridge Rovers were handed a 9-0 defeat. Tom Hollinsworth bagged a hat-trick; Jamie Salmon and Tom Kearney notched braces; Max Kent and Billy Shulver also hit the target to complete a goal scoring afternoon. Rayleigh Town dominated the opening 20 minutes of their game against PFC Victoria London but found themselves a goal down, then Bailey Moss stepped up and scored twice before the break to hand Rayleigh a 2-1 lead. A defensive error allowed the hosts to level up before scoring again to run out 3-2 winners.

 

London Junior Cup

Goals from George Oakley, Ajibola Orinlonshe, Charlie Heatly and Jack Potten saw FC Hamlets overcome Bridon Ropes Res. with a 4-1 win. Newham United however are out after suffering a 5-1 reverse at Hilltop.

 

Premier Division

Buckhurst Hill missed a number of chances against Sungate on Saturday. However the Premier Division leaders were able to pick up all the points thanks to Suleyman Zuhdu notching midway through the first half. The result sees Buckhurst Hill remain top with a two point lead over Kelvedon Hatch who also won on Saturday, thanks to a Theo Ola brace which saw his team overcome Springfield 2-1. Anthony Pantaleo supplied the Springfield goal. Harold Wood Athletic slip down to third after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Old Southendian with Chris Muir and Robert Whitnell their scorers. Hutton and Canning Town provided plenty of entertainment as their game produced eight goals, but the points go to Hutton who run out 5-3 winners thanks to goals from Chris Rowlatt, Tom Price, Chris Skingley, Will Marlowe and Josh Bardouleau. Canning Town’s goals were scored by Patrick Damali, Matt Betts and Paul Henry. Leigh Ramblers end the weekend in fifth after a Jamie Selby-Knight brace plus a goal from Joe Hunter saw them beat Great Baddow 3-1.

Defeat keeps Herongate in the drop zone, while Old Chelmsfordians, who sit one place above it managed a 5-0 win over bottom-placed May & Baker E.C. Res. Martin Mixture (2), Joshua Lawrence, William King and Joe Kemp were the marksmen, with the win now opening up a four point gap between themselves and Herongate. Sean Green scored a hat-trick in Ongar Town’s 5-0 away win at Frenford Res. with Ben Polley and Ross Carpenter the other scorers.

Toby are up to second after a Des Gallen brace helped them beat Beacon Hill Rovers 2-1; meanwhile Runwell Sports keep in touch of the top two after their 3-1 away at Ryan keeps them fourth, two points off the leaders. Charlie Adams, Aaron Rix from the penalty spot and an own goal were the sources of the Runwell goals.

Laindon Orient are up to second after a 4-1 win over Academy Soccer who finished the game with only nine men. Laindon scored their goals through Sam Lake, Ryan Scougall, Adam Cole and an own goal, while Marc Porter-Brown scored the Academy Soccer goal. Chadrack Domingos was the White Ensign Res. scorer in a 2-1 defeat at Wakering Sports.
