I was joined today, not by Brian Hughes, but by MICHAEL CASSON from Shenfield based solicitors, RAINER HUGHES.
And there was a special reason for Michael to come in today as this month is WILL AID MONTH.
This is the time when participating solicitors donate their will writing time for free.
Will Aid Month was launched for the first time 30 years ago and Michael has been there from the very start.
In that time Will Aid has raised more than £1.1m for its charities, ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).
If you haven’t made a will yet – and you really should – this is the time to do it. Basically you will be asked to for a voluntary contribution – the suggested figure is £95 for a single will and £150 for a pair of mirror wills where a couple prepare almost identical wills, typically leaving their estates to each other.
Listen out here to what Michael had to say today and why it is so important that you make a will, if you haven’t made one already: –
In the second hour of today’s show we reported on the bizarre case of the woman who has just announced her engagement to a ghost!
You may recall seeing 30-year old AMETHYST REALM being interviewed on TV, last year after she claimed to have been enjoying sex with ghosts.
Well she obviously now aims to enter into the “spirit” of things in a big way since she has just announced her engagement to one of her ghostly companions.
‘We’re soulmates, meant for each other, and that’ll never change. The fact that he’s a spirit is by the by.’ she said at her engagement party.
Apparently she met her new match whilst she was travelling on business in Australia at the start of this year and her fiancé popped the question whilst they were at Wookey Hole Caves in Somerset.
Seemingly the words “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” echoed round the cave whilst until that point she had only heard his utterances in her head.
’The voice was ‘deep, sexy and real’, said Amethyst, from Bristol, who says her family and friends are happy for her.
She’s already planning a Pagan handfasting ceremony. I wonder if the witnesses will be known as “SPETREators!”
And as to the future, Amethst says that the idea of having a baby with her new husband may sound crazy, but isn’t totally out of the question.
A phantom pregnancy for real perhaps!
Anyway we at Phoenix Fm would like to wish the happy couple a long and happy life together!
I’ll see you again tomorrow – in the real world!
