Prokit UK Essex Olympian League – Saturday 27th October Round-Up

Anagrams Records Trophy

FC Hamlets made progress in the Anagram Records Trophy as Faron Smith bagged both goals in their 2-0 away win at Cuffley

Senior League Cup

Manford Way put aside their winless league form as they beat Division Three outfit Laindon Orient 3-1. Ruben Carvalho, Lee Lashley and Kieran Southgate provided the goals, although Laindon did get one back via Henry Ballard.

Premier Division

Buckhurst Hill left it very late but ended up sealing all three points in the final minute of their encounter with Great Baddow; Frank Glock’s left foot strike ended up in the back of the net and the three points keep his side top of the table. Kelvedon Hatch remain second after a 3-2 away win at Sungate. All the Kelvedon goals came via Theo Ola with Sungate notching theirs through Jack Clarke and Reese Simpson. Bishop’s Stortford Swifts are third after a 2-1 away win at Rayleigh Town. Danny Morgan and a Charles Brown penalty made sure of the win. Ollie Brittain scored his first goal in adult football for Springfield on Saturday. Ross Lamb and Dave Wareham were the other scorers in the 3-1 win for Springfield, with Nick Henesy scoring the Old Southendian reply. Neil Barratt and Patrick Damali were the Canning Town scorers in a 2-2 draw with Leigh Ramblers. Catholic United remain in the drop zone after a 4-2 defeat at Hutton. Chris Rowett bagged a hat-trick with Brad Freeman rounding up the scoring.

Division One

Snaresbrook remain top of the table after a solitary Tyriquee Solomon goal was enough to claim all the points in a slender 1-0 win over second-placed Ramsden Scotia. Goal difference had separated the two at the start of play, by the end of it Snaresbrook had opened up a three point lead. Galleywood move up to fourth after hitting four against Herongate Athletic. Sam Donn (2), Matthew Buckingham and Tyler Tredgett were their scorers in the 4-1 home win. That result keeps Herongate in the relegation zone, while Old Chelmsfordians drop to tenth after a 2-1 defeat at Shenfield AFC. Mitch Day bagged both the Shenfield goals, with Old Chelmsfordians requiring an own goal to register their reply. James Stevens scored the Ongar Town goal in a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Raeford Res. The win sees Frenford move a step further away from the drop zone and they now sit ninth.

Division Two

Shoebury Town remain top of Division Two but they came a cropper against Toby on Saturday. A pair of Turners, in the shape of Ben and Joe cut the leaders down to size and handed Toby a 2-1 away victory. Runwell Sports remain second, closing the gap on the leaders to three points, after a 4-2 win at Rochford Town. Declan Clarke, Pearce Clarke, Aaron Rix and John Smethwick supplied the goal. Rochford Town now drop into the bottom two as Newham United were able to get a point from their game with Lakeside. Omar Jomanday and Hamzy Jomanday were the Newham United scorers in the 2-2 draw. Drew Klessa-Smith and Ollie Pettit were the Lakeside marksmen. May & Baker E.C. ‘A’ suffered a 9-0 defeat at Harold Wood Athletic Res. which keeps them rooted to the foot of the table. The Harold Wood goals included a hat-trick from James Thorn, a brace from Brad Foley, with Chris Pope, Perry Robinson and Harry Boswell also chipping in. Chingford Athletic beat Ryan 6-1, while a Matt Kosinki brace alongside a Rene Bearman goal saw Beacon Hill Rovers beat Upminster 3-0.

Division Three

Lewis Lawrence scored a double for Westhamians in their 2-1 win over White Ensign Res. who replied via Izaih Antoine. The win keeps Westhamians top of the table, with their lead extended to five points over second-placed Academy Soccer who could only snare a point from their game at Roydon. At one point it looked like the lowly hosts were going to pick up all the points as they were leading 2-0, but Luiz Ruiz and Jake Jones then popped up to make sure Academy Soccer at least got something from the game. The draw however means they have moved a step further away from Westhamians whilst now only being second by way of goal difference as Old Southendian Res. won their game on Saturday. Local rivals Basildon Town Res. provided the opposition but a Greg Smith penalty and a Ben Franklin header made it a 2-0 success for the hosts. Carl Dutton bagged a hat-trick for Hutton Res. in their 5-2 away win at Wakering Sports. Michael Lindsey and Conor O’Regan were also on the Hutton score sheet, with Wakering scoring their goals via Danny Pallett. Leigh Town end the day in fifth after hitting six at Old Chelmsfordians Res. George Darby (2), Thomas Ayford, Sam Gillmore, Zac Mashford and Ashley Sexton were their scorers in the 6-1 away day success.
