Manford Way took time out from their League campaign, which has seen them fail to win any of their games, to do battle in the Anagram Records Trophy. However Sarratt ended their interest in the competition after a 6-3 win at the London Marathon Playing Fields.

 

London Junior Cup

Newham United are into the 3rd Round after a 5-0 success against AFC Battersea. Ousman Ndure bagged a brace, with Lamar Obinkwo, Kaci Henry and Yuan Zahui also notching. FC Hamlets are also through after a Tyler Sanago-Griffiths bagged a brace with Farren Smith the other scorer in their 3-0 away win at Johnson & Phillips. Canning Town Res. however are out after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Rygas.

 

Senior League Cup

Goals from Jermaine Purchas, Scott Truman, Nick Muir, Ashley Daniel and James Smith booked Sungate’s place in the 3rd Round via a 5-3 away win at Shenfield AFC. Harry Hatt, Sam Lock and Ben Absolon scored for the hosts.

 

Premier Division

Buckhurst Hill managed to open a two point lead after they were successful on Saturday, whereas Kelvedon Hatch were held to a draw. Suley Zuhdu and Steve Townsend both scored braces, with Billy Wells the other scorer as Buckhurst Hill beat Canning Town 5-0. Kelvedon Hatch remain on Buckhurst Hill’s tail but were held to a 2-2 draw by Old Southendian who cancelled out Mike Daniels double with goals from Ruari McIntyre and Reece Brandon. Danny Morgan scored the Bishop’s Stortford Swifts goal in a 1-1 draw at Harold Wood Athletic; while a superb free kick by Tom Price for Hutton didn’t provide all the points as Leigh Ramblers also scored via Jamie Selby  Knight. Rayleigh Town returned to winning ways with a 4-1 win over Great Baddow. Paul Morris opened the scoring in the 5th minute with a curling shot from outside the box; Bailey Moss doubled the lead, Harry Talbot then made it 3-0 and although Great Baddow were able to reduce arrears via an Ashley Cole goal, it then became 4-1 when Cameron Glover closed the show with a shot from the edge of the box.

The hosts scored through Justin Clarke and Des Gallen, while Chris Pope scored for Harold Wood who are now three points behind Shoebury Town. Ryan beat bottom-placed May & Baker E.C. ‘A’ 2-0, while Lakeside were 6-1 winners over Beacon Hill Rovers courtesy of a Drew Klessa-Smith hat trick.
