Essex County Cricket Club have announced that Jack Plom has signed his first professional contract with the Club, lasting until the end of the 2020 season.
The 19-year-old came through the Essex Academy and has featured heavily for the Second XI team this season, taking 18 wickets in 7 Second XI County Championship matches, with his best performance seeing him take 6 wickets for 33 runs.
Plom has been in and around the first team set up at Essex this year whilst also being one of the stand out players for the Young Lions during their recent series win against South Africa U19, taking 13 wickets across the 4 matches.
Plom is thrilled and said: “I’m really excited to sign my first professional contract and I can’t wait to get going next season.
“I’ve now been on three England U19 tours which was really good for my development, and I want to crack on from that and progress further as a player with Essex.”
