Lakeside Speedway – MATCH PREVIEW

The latest from the Lakeside Speedway Press Office…

LAKESIDE will be back at full strength for their crucial Championship play-off semi-final clashes with Peterborough this weekend.

The Hammers host the Panthers in the first leg at Rye House on Saturday (7pm) with the return at the East of England Arena on Sunday (October 7, 5pm).

And they’ve been boosted by the news that former British Under-19 Champion Zach Wajtknecht has recovered from a back problem which has kept him out of action in recent weeks.

The Hammers also welcome Ben Morley and Alfie Bowtell back to their side – who claimed the top two places in the National League Riders’ Championship last Sunday.

And after defeating Peterborough last weekend to reach the final of the Championship Shield, the Hammers are in good spirits.

“One way or another we’ve been without key riders over the last few weeks and months,” team manager Will Pottinger said.

“But now Zach is ready to race again we’re back at full strength and that makes us a really dangerous outfit to come up against.

“These are the meetings we’ve worked hard all season long for and now we must perform over two meetings in two days to earn a place in the final.”

LAKESIDE: Richard Lawson, Zach Wajtknecht, Adam Ellis, Kyle Newman, Nick Morris, Ben Morley, Alfie Bowtell.
PETERBOROUGH: Nico Covatti, Bradley Wilson-Dean R/R, Emil Grondal, Ulrich Ostergaard, Michael Palm Toft, Jordan Stewart, Simon Lambert.
