Dramatic weight loss achieved by a low calorie liquid diet can be beneficial for you in many ways and the weight can stay off too, according to the latest research.

Partcipants in the 800 calorie per day diet, with medical supervision, lost approximately 10% of their body weight. 69% of them kept the weight off when they continued to diet intermittently over a 3 year period. They also found they had significant health benefits; they reduced their heart age, reduced cholesterol and blood pressure, and reduced their risk of heart attack and stroke.

The weight loss also eased joint pain. All these results challenges the popular view that weightlost quickly isn’t sustainable in the long term. It also indicates that it could be a viable treatment for sufferers of osteoarthritis.

Further analysis revealed a five year improvement in heart age too. To maintain the diet long term could be dangerous and cause malnutrition,so when the optimum weight loss has been achieved it’simportant to reassess and use the liquid diet as a maintenance plan.

Last week I reported that this diet is also going to be available on the NHS to help combat Type 2 Diabetes, so the advancements in this field are phenomenal, and certainly a good one to keep an eye on for the future. Finally a diet plan that actually works and is being endorsed by NHS as well! .
