Four-legged special in the studio raises awareness of this year’s Wetnose Day

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

We featured a four-legged special on air last week with Wetnose Animal Aid Founder Andrea Gamby-Boulger, TV personality Karen Chamberlain and dog training expert Rik Moran all visiting the studio to chat to Karin Ridgers on her Friday evening House Of Fun show.

Our guests came in to talk about Wetnose Day, which is inspired by Red Nose Day – the organisers encourage people all over the UK to raise funds for animals and small animal rescue centers that do not receive funding. This helps to take pressure off voluntary animal welfare groups who struggle with fundraising all year round.

Karin is not only a fervent animal rights campaigner herself – she is also now an Ambassador of Wetnose Day, which takes place this year on 21 September.

You can find out more about it by visiting wetnoseanimalaid.com and you can also listen to Karin’s interview again at phoenixfm.com.

* Lots more guests coming up in the next seven days. Local author Phil Steer will be talking to Patrick Sherring about his book “As A Child – God’s Call To Littleness” on Friday Night Extra.

* There will also be live music in the studio from Owen Williams and Big Bright Thing.
