Steve Shepherd of the Brentwood Horticultural Society was my guest today and he has a message for all would-be gardeners in the area to get cracking in growing more produce in one of the Society’s allotments.
The Society has allotments at 8 sites in the Borough – Bishops Hall, Crescent Road, Hartswood, Honeypot Lane, Middle Road, Ongar Road, Park Road and River Road.

In the second hour of today’s programme we heard all about the man who’s spent a fortune to change his appearance.
But rather than attempting to improve his looks, Eric Yeiner Hincapié Ramírez, also known as tattoo artist, Kalaca Skull has spent two years and goodness knows how much money to try to look like an ab-human who’s just risen out of the grave!
For starters he’s had the lower half of his nose and his ears removed.
On top of that he’s had his tongue split in half and tattooed a blue-grey colour, and had skull features, including black eye-sockets tattooed on his face.
He’s also shaved his hair to reveal hundreds of head tattoos and piercings.
Reportedly he’s planning further mutilations to make him look even more like a skeleton but he insists that he is just a “normal” person who wants to look different.
