We allwant toknow the secret of eternal youth, and there are always people out there who seem to defy the ageing process, how does that happen? Not just in looks but in vitality too. They seem to have lots in common with people that are much younger. A lot of it is to do with your attitude to life.

When you talk to older people, the more dynamic ones rarely talk about the job that they did, or if they do it’s relatively fleeting. They tend to talk about specific events or adventures they’ve had, exciting moments.

Too many of us define ourselves by our work, andf after we retire we fweel lost and can cause anxiety and stress, leading to heart attack or stroke. Yes, you need to enjoy your work but don’t let it define you, you are more than your career, you need a hobby or two to keep you vibrant.

When older people say they don’t exercise but they look really fit and healthy, they then go on to say they play tennis, walk the dog go for a run, or a swim;they don’t regard any of those things as exercise, they’re just having fun.

They feel that exercise is boring and a chore, as do most of us, so the key is to find a form of exercise you love.

Try not to feel bad about yourself too.Social media has fuelled the fire of envy and we are constantly comparing ourselves to others. There will always be people better off than you. Vibrant older people don’t care about what others think about them, they take life as it is.

Super agers are always on the go, rarely staying indoors, not trekking up a mountain, but just getting out of the house and comnnecting with others is important.

Get rid of the bad friendships and things you don’t like. Start enjoying yourself and don’t take life too seriously.
